Together we can make the world a better place for the animals; “A society is judged by how it treats it old, and its animals”. Help us to make a difference that we can all be proud of.

Saves The Horses is called to assist animals, especially horses, and the people that support them, in times of need, trouble and disaster.

About Us

Hi, we're Gary and Jeanette.

For the better part of the last three decades, our passion for people, horses, and the sport of polo has taken us around the world, allowing us to experience this breathtaking planet and meet some of the most amazing people.

One thing that we found to be universal everywhere we went is that at any time and without warning hardship could hit a family, a business, or a community and bring devastation that might be irrecoverable for years.

We started Saves the Horses as a way to help in places where we thought could help the most.  Beyond just helping horses in need, Saves the Horses funds organizations that better the lives of any people or animals who are suffering from an unexpected hardship.

As with everything we do, we strive to work with the highest quality  aid services and groups around the world and we are committed to continually finding new ways we effectively deliver support.

Would you like to join us in helping those in need?

Our Work

Saves the horses is committed to making a difference. Currently we are supporting a wonderful 501C3 in Lake Charles, Louisiana that we were working with through Pamela Flanagan on the Polo Pony Makeover when disaster recently struck.

These pictures show some of the devastation on the equine rescue farm after being hit be Hurricane Laura.

Providing Hurricane Relief for Safe from Slaughter Equine Rescue

Through Pam we had been introduced to Katie Roush, founder of SFSER, and learned of their efforts to work together on the polo pony makeover. We have been working to support and take that program national when Katie got hit by back to back hurricanes that destroyed their house, barns and support buildings on the rescue site. Amazingly, and only by the grace of God, the 40 horses survived. Katie told us of waking up in the middle of the night, as the roof was blowing off their house and praying for protection of her horses. Shows what a great heart she has that while her house is being destroyed, and her own life is in danger, she is thinking about the safety of her horses. The Lord listened and miraculously all 40 head survived without a scratch. When you see the devastation in the pictures, and imagine 150 mile per hour winds, you can see that this truly was a miracle.

Thank you, Katie, for all you do. Please join with us to raise another $5,000 for Safe from Slaughter so we can continue restore the sanctuary and then to move forward with Pam Flanagan’s great idea for the polo pony makeover of which Safe from Slaughter will play an important role.

Thank you for your generosity,

Jeanette and Gary
